Why Buy Reusable Incontinence Underwear?

Why Buy Reusable Incontinence Underwear?

Aug 10th 2020

Whether you’ve been searching for reusable incontinence underwear, or the thought never crossed your mind, it’s probably time to take a closer look at the issue. Money, convenience, and comfort are huge considerations when it comes to selecting the best incontinence product for you and your lifestyle. First, we’ll explain the two different types of reusable leak protection, including the pros and cons of each. Second, we’ll delve into the details about how to choose the right size incontinence product for you.

Types of Reusable Incontinence Underwear

When shopping for leak protection, you’ll find that most products are never reusable. You must throw them out after each soil, which is usually many times a day – and night. As you probably noticed, this is both time consuming and expensive! Many times, individuals and caregivers look for a reusable alternative to make it easier and less expensive to stay clean and dry.

In this case, the alternatives are semi-reusable and fully reusable incontinence underwear.

Fully Reusable

This is probably what you think of first. For the most part, these products look and feel like regular underwear, but they have built-in, washable absorbent pads.

Pros:

  • Looks and feels like regular underwear
  • No reordering
  • Save money over time
  • Usually comfortable

Cons:

  • Not as absorbent (holds average of about 6 oz fluid)
  • Must be washed (not a pleasant thought)
  • More expensive per pair (may require several a day)
  • No leak barriers

Semi-Reusable

Many of our products include semi-reusable incontinence underwear. You don’t need to throw out your underwear every time you soil them, and you don’t have to wash anything!

Sound impossible?

Our two-piece system makes it possible. Our Protective Underwear and Premium Briefs have two components that can be used separately or together: disposable underwear and disposable shaped pads. They’re designed to work together seamlessly. When combined, they create our two-piece system that allows you to throw away soiled pads without changing your underwear. That’s what makes them semi-reusable.

But when you’re ready to change your underwear for the day, you simply dispose of the underwear or the briefs, just like the pad.

When evaluating our brand of semi-reusable incontinence underwear, we found far more benefits than the never reusable and fully reusable products have.

Pros:

  • Both pieces are highly absorbent (20-90 FL OZ each)
  • Typically no nighttime changes
  • Leakage barrier leg cuffs
  • Save time and money by changing pad only
  • Completely fresh underwear with each change
  • No washing soiled undergarments
  • Cloth-like feel
  • Autoship makes reordering easy
  • Reduces waste

Cons:

  • Looks less like regular underwear
  • Must reorder regularly

We think you’ll agree that the pros of our reusable incontinence underwear (and two-piece system) far outweigh the cons. Our products are tough to beat when it comes to convenience, comfort, and even cost.

Choosing Incontinence Underwear in the Right Size

Your next question will probably be how to find the right fit.

First, know your waist size. For an accurate measurement, find the top of each hip bone and wrap the measuring tape around your body. You should be measuring around your midsection just below your belly button. Let the tape wrap snugly but not too tightly or too loosely.

Second, look for the size chart on each of our product pages. There you’ll find the waist measurement for available sizes and can identify the one closest to your measurement. Keep in mind that it’s best not to order a size bigger than needed. Our reusable incontinence underwear works best when the fit is snug but comfortable. This give you the most leak protection.
